Lake Chala, Moshi

Nestled on the border of Kenya and Tanzania, Lake Chala is a hidden gem that took my breath away. As I approached, the shimmering blue-green waters came into view, surrounded by steep crater walls. The lake's color shifts throughout the day, from deep blue to turquoise, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. For the adventurous, there's an opportunity to hike down to the shoreline, though the trek is quite steep. Once at the bottom, the crystal-clear water invites you for a refreshing swim. The lake is also home to a variety of wildlife, including monkeys and numerous bird species. As the day progressed, I witnessed a stunning sunset that painted the sky in vibrant hues, reflecting off the lake's surface. Lake Chala is truly a natural wonder, offering a perfect escape for those seeking peace and unspoiled beauty in East Africa.
