Stepping into Cretaceous Park, also known as Cal Orck'o, is like traveling back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Located just outside Sucre, Bolivia, this remarkable site boasts the world's largest collection of dinosaur footprints. As I approached the massive limestone wall, I was awestruck by the sheer number of tracks visible – over 5,000 footprints from at least 8 different species of dinosaurs! The most impressive are the long trails left by titanosaurs, some stretching up to 26 meters. It's mind-boggling to imagine these enormous creatures walking right where I stood 68 million years ago. The on-site museum offers fascinating insights into the prehistoric era, with life-sized dinosaur models and interactive exhibits. I particularly enjoyed the 3D animations that bring the ancient landscape to life. The park's viewing platforms provide excellent vantage points to observe the tracks up close. As the sun set, casting long shadows across the wall, the footprints seemed to come alive, telling a silent story of a long-lost world. Cretaceous Park is truly a unique and unforgettable experience for anyone interested in paleontology or simply amazed by the wonders of our planet's history.
