Cua Van Floating Village, Ha Long Bay

As I approached Cua Van Floating Village, I was immediately struck by its ethereal beauty. Nestled in the heart of Ha Long Bay, this enchanting community of floating homes is a testament to human adaptability and ingenuity. The village, home to around 170 families, stretches across the emerald waters, creating a mesmerizing sight. Colorful wooden houses bob gently on the water, connected by a network of narrow walkways. The villagers, mostly fishermen, have lived here for generations, preserving their unique way of life. I was fascinated by their daily routines, watching children paddle to the floating school and women tend to fish farms beneath their homes. The sense of community is palpable, with neighbors chatting and helping each other as they go about their day. The surrounding limestone karsts create a dramatic backdrop, their towering presence a constant reminder of nature's grandeur. As the sun began to set, the village took on a magical quality, with lanterns flickering to life and casting warm glows across the water. It's an experience that truly immerses you in a world so different from our own, yet one that feels incredibly welcoming and peaceful.
