Secret Lagoon, El Nido

Nestled in the heart of Iceland's Golden Circle, Secret Lagoon is a hidden gem that offers a truly authentic geothermal bathing experience. As I approached the site, I was struck by the natural beauty surrounding the pool. Steam rose gently from the crystal-clear waters, creating an almost mystical atmosphere. The lagoon itself is surprisingly large, with plenty of space to float and relax. The water temperature is perfect, hovering around 38-40°C (100-104°F), making it ideal for a long, leisurely soak. One of the most fascinating features is the small geyser that erupts every few minutes, adding an element of excitement to the tranquil setting. The facilities are basic but clean, with changing rooms, showers, and a small café. What I loved most about Secret Lagoon was its laid-back, local feel. Unlike some of Iceland's more commercialized hot springs, this spot retains a sense of authenticity and connection to nature. As I floated in the warm waters, watching the Northern Lights dance across the sky, I felt a profound sense of peace and wonder. It's an experience I'll never forget.
