As I stepped into this urban oasis, I was immediately struck by the surreal juxtaposition of giraffes grazing against a backdrop of skyscrapers. The park is a haven for over 100 mammal species and 400 bird species, making it a wildlife enthusiast's dream. During my game drive, I spotted majestic lions lounging in the grass, a herd of zebras trotting by, and even a pair of endangered black rhinos! The park's diverse landscapes, from open grass plains to acacia woodlands and rocky gorges, provide a perfect habitat for this incredible array of animals. One of the highlights was visiting the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where I watched orphaned baby elephants being fed and bathed. The park also offers picnic sites with stunning views, making it an ideal spot for a family day out. Despite its proximity to the city, Nairobi National Park truly feels like a world apart, offering a unique and unforgettable safari experience right on the doorstep of Kenya's capital.
