Sucuri River (Rio Sucuri), Bonito

Imagine floating down a crystal-clear river, surrounded by lush greenery and exotic wildlife. That's exactly what you'll experience at the Sucuri River in Brazil's Bonito region. As I glided along in my snorkel gear, I was mesmerized by the incredible visibility of the water – it felt like flying! The river's name, which means "anaconda" in Portuguese, comes from its winding path through the landscape. While I didn't spot any giant snakes, I did see an amazing array of colorful fish darting beneath me. The highlight was definitely the natural spring where the river begins. The water bubbles up from underground, creating a surreal blue pool that's simply breathtaking. The guided tour was well-organized, with knowledgeable staff ensuring everyone's safety and enjoyment. After the float, we had time to relax on the riverbank and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. It's a must-do experience for nature lovers and anyone seeking a unique adventure. Just remember to bring biodegradable sunscreen to protect the delicate ecosystem!
