Stepping into Ryoan-ji Temple & Garden is like entering a different world. The moment you pass through the gates, you're enveloped by a sense of tranquility. The temple grounds are beautifully maintained, with lush greenery everywhere you look. But the real star of the show is the famous rock garden. It's unlike anything I've ever seen before - a rectangular space filled with carefully raked gravel and 15 moss-covered rocks. The simplicity is striking, and I found myself mesmerized, trying to unravel its meaning. The garden is designed so that you can never see all 15 rocks at once from any viewing angle, which adds to its mystique. Beyond the rock garden, there's a lovely pond with water lilies, perfect for a peaceful stroll. The main hall of the temple is also worth exploring, with its beautiful wooden architecture and serene atmosphere. What struck me most about Ryoan-ji was the overwhelming sense of calm. Even with other visitors around, there's a hushed reverence that makes it easy to lose yourself in contemplation. It's a place that stays with you long after you've left, inviting reflection and inspiring a sense of inner peace.
