Saklikent National Park (Saklikent Milli Parki), Kas

Nestled in the stunning Taurus Mountains of southwestern Turkey, Saklikent National Park is a natural wonder that took my breath away. As I ventured into the gorge, I was immediately struck by its towering limestone walls, reaching up to 300 meters high. The cool, crystal-clear waters of the Akdağ Mountains flow through the canyon, creating a refreshing oasis in the hot Turkish summer. Walking along the wooden platforms, I felt dwarfed by the sheer scale of nature surrounding me. The most exhilarating part was wading through the chilly waters, feeling the force of the current against my legs. For the adventurous, there are opportunities for canyoning and rafting further upstream. After exploring the gorge, I relaxed at one of the charming riverside restaurants, savoring local trout while dangling my feet in the cool water. The park also offers beautiful hiking trails and picnic areas, making it a perfect day trip destination. Saklikent National Park is truly a hidden gem that showcases the raw beauty of Turkey's natural landscape.
