Tallinn Town Hall (Tallinna Raekoda), Tallinn

Standing proudly in the heart of Tallinn's Old Town, the Town Hall is a magnificent sight to behold. As I approached, I was struck by its imposing Gothic architecture, with its soaring spire reaching towards the sky. This medieval marvel dates back to the 13th century, making it the oldest town hall in the Baltic and Scandinavian regions. Stepping inside, I was transported back in time. The grand halls are adorned with intricate frescoes and tapestries, each telling a story of Tallinn's rich history. The Town Hall Pharmacy, believed to be one of the oldest continuously running pharmacies in Europe, is a fascinating corner not to be missed. Climbing the narrow, winding staircase to the tower was a bit of a challenge, but the panoramic views of the Old Town's red-tiled roofs and beyond were absolutely worth it. Don't forget to look for the Old Thomas weathervane atop the spire, a beloved symbol of Tallinn. The atmosphere in the square below is always lively, with cafes, street performers, and markets adding to the charm. Whether you're a history buff or simply appreciate stunning architecture, Tallinn Town Hall is an absolute must-visit.
