Stepping into the Historic Centre of Bruges feels like traveling back in time. The moment you set foot on its cobblestone streets, you're transported to a medieval fairy tale. The Markt, the city's main square, is a breathtaking sight with its colorful guild houses and the imposing Belfry tower. I couldn't resist climbing the 366 steps for a panoramic view of the city – it was absolutely worth it! The canals that wind through the city are simply magical, especially during a boat tour. The way the sunlight dances on the water, reflecting the centuries-old buildings, is mesmerizing. Don't miss the Basilica of the Holy Blood, a beautiful church with a vial said to contain Christ's blood. The Groeningemuseum houses an impressive collection of Flemish primitive art that left me in awe. As I wandered through the narrow streets, I found myself constantly stopping to admire the well-preserved Gothic and Renaissance architecture. The aroma of Belgian waffles and chocolate seems to permeate the air, tempting you at every turn. This UNESCO World Heritage site truly deserves its reputation as one of Europe's best-preserved medieval cities.
