As I approached the National Capitol in Havana, I was immediately struck by its grandeur. This impressive neoclassical building dominates the city skyline with its iconic dome. Walking up the steps, I felt a sense of anticipation. Inside, the opulence is breathtaking. The main hall's marble floors and intricate frescoes are a feast for the eyes. I was fascinated by the statue of the Republic, a massive bronze figure that stands as a symbol of Cuba's sovereignty. The building's rich history is palpable as you wander through its corridors. It once housed Cuba's Congress and now serves as the home of the Cuban Academy of Sciences. The guided tour was informative, offering insights into Cuba's political past and present. One of the highlights was viewing the city from the upper balconies, providing a stunning panorama of Havana.
