Millennium Cross (Mileniumski Krst), Skopje

Perched atop Vodno Mountain, the Millennium Cross stands as a colossal symbol of Christianity overlooking Skopje, North Macedonia. As I approached, its sheer size left me in awe – at 66 meters tall, it's one of the largest crosses in the world. The panoramic views from the summit are simply breathtaking, offering a 360-degree vista of Skopje and beyond. To reach the cross, I took a scenic cable car ride, which was an adventure in itself. The crisp mountain air and lush greenery surrounding the site create a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for reflection or simply enjoying nature. At night, the illuminated cross becomes a beacon visible from miles away, adding to Skopje's enchanting skyline. The site also features a small chapel and an observation deck, where I spent time taking in the magnificent landscape. Whether you're interested in religious landmarks or just seeking stunning views, the Millennium Cross is a must-visit attraction that offers a unique perspective on Skopje and its beautiful surroundings.
