Pink Lake (Hutt Lagoon), Kalbarri

As I approached Pink Lake, also known as Hutt Lagoon, I was struck by the surreal beauty of its vibrant pink waters stretching out before me. This natural wonder, located in Western Australia, is a sight that truly has to be seen to be believed. The lake's unique color comes from the presence of algae that produce beta-carotene, giving it its distinctive rosy hue. Depending on the time of day and weather conditions, the lake can appear in various shades of pink, from a soft pastel to a vivid magenta. The best times to visit are during mid-morning or sunset when the colors are most intense. I was mesmerized by the contrast between the pink water and the blue sky, creating a stunning visual spectacle. The surrounding landscape is equally captivating, with rugged coastlines and sandy beaches nearby. Many visitors, myself included, enjoy taking a scenic flight over the lake to fully appreciate its vast expanse and unique coloration from above. It's worth noting that while the lake is beautiful, swimming is not permitted due to its high salinity. Nevertheless, the Pink Lake is a photographer's dream and a must-see destination for anyone exploring Western Australia's natural wonders.
