The knowledgeable guide pointed out other wildlife too - snakes coiled in the branches, crabs scuttling along the shore, and even a sleepy silky anteater. The diverse ecosystem here is remarkable, supporting an incredible array of species. As we cruised back in the twilight, the mangroves took on an ethereal quality, their reflections shimmering in the calm waters.
