Perched atop the Nakkerd Hills, the Big Buddha Phuket is a sight to behold. As I approached, the sheer size of the statue took my breath away. Standing 45 meters tall, this majestic white marble Buddha dominates the landscape and can be seen from miles around. The winding road up to the site offers stunning panoramic views of the island, with Phuket Town, Kata, Karon, and Chalong Bay all visible from different points. Once at the top, the atmosphere is serene and peaceful, despite the number of visitors. The gentle tinkling of small bells and soft Buddhist chants add to the tranquil ambiance. Walking around the base of the statue, I was struck by the intricate details and the smaller Buddha images adorning the area. The viewing platform provides an incredible 360-degree vista of southern Phuket. Don't miss the lucky white ribbon ritual, where you can write a wish and tie it to a railing. Remember to dress respectfully, covering shoulders and knees, or borrow a sarong at the entrance. The site is free to enter, but donations are welcome to help maintain this impressive landmark.
