Tsavo National Park, Tsavo National Park East

Stepping into Tsavo National Park is like entering a vast, untamed wilderness. The sheer size of this park is breathtaking - it's one of the largest in Kenya! As I drove through, I was struck by the diverse landscapes, from dusty plains to lush oases. The park is split into two sections, Tsavo East and West, each with its own unique charm. In Tsavo East, I witnessed herds of red elephants, their skin stained by the area's rich, rust-colored soil. It's a sight you won't forget! The park is also home to the famous man-eating lions of Tsavo, adding a thrilling edge to every game drive. I was lucky enough to spot some lounging in the shade of acacia trees. The Galana River, snaking through the park, attracts a wealth of wildlife. I spent hours watching hippos wallowing and crocodiles basking on the banks. For bird enthusiasts, the park is a paradise with over 500 species recorded. The Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary in Tsavo West was a highlight, offering a chance to see these endangered creatures up close. As the sun set, painting the sky in vibrant hues, I realized Tsavo isn't just a park - it's a life-changing experience.
