Standing at an awe-inspiring 71 meters tall, the Leshan Giant Buddha is a sight that truly takes your breath away. As I approached the colossal statue, I was struck by its sheer magnitude and the intricate details carved into the rock face. The Buddha's serene expression and graceful pose are remarkably well-preserved, considering it was carved over 1,200 years ago. The best view is from the river, where you can appreciate the full scale of the statue set against the lush green hillside. I took a boat tour, which offered stunning photo opportunities. For a more intimate experience, I climbed the stairs alongside the Buddha, marveling at the craftsmanship up close. The enormous ears, each over 7 meters long, are particularly impressive. The surrounding area is rich in history, with ancient temples and pagodas to explore. The peaceful atmosphere and beautiful scenery make it easy to understand why this site was chosen for such a monumental sculpture.
