Blue Pools Track, Wanaka

As I stepped onto the Blue Pools Track, I was immediately enveloped by the lush native forest of Mount Aspiring National Park. The well-maintained path led me through a magical journey, with the sound of birdsong and rustling leaves accompanying every step. After a short walk, I reached the swinging bridge – a thrilling experience that offered breathtaking views of the Makarora River below. But the real gem awaited at the end of the track. The Blue Pools themselves were a sight to behold, with crystal-clear turquoise waters that seemed almost otherworldly. The clarity of the water was astounding; I could see right to the bottom, where smooth river stones created intricate patterns. The surrounding beech forest provided a perfect frame for this natural wonder.
