Entoto Maryam Church, Addis Ababa

Perched atop Mount Entoto, overlooking Addis Ababa, stands the majestic Entoto Maryam Church. Inside, the walls are adorned with vibrant murals depicting biblical scenes and Ethiopian Orthodox traditions. The atmosphere is serene, with the scent of incense lingering in the air. I was fortunate to witness a service, where the haunting chants of the priests echoed through the church. The museum adjacent to the church houses a fascinating collection of royal artifacts, including Emperor Menelik II's crown and battle armors. The panoramic views of Addis Ababa from the church grounds are simply breathtaking. As I explored the surrounding area, I discovered ancient trees and remnants of the old palace complex. Entoto Maryam Church offers a unique blend of spirituality, history, and natural beauty, making it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Ethiopia's rich cultural heritage.
