Marvin Braude Bike Trail, Santa Monica

The Marvin Braude Bike Trail, also known as The Strand, is a breathtaking 22-mile coastal path that stretches from Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades to Torrance County Beach. As I cycled along this scenic route, I was constantly amazed by the stunning ocean views and the vibrant beach culture of Southern California. The trail winds its way through some of LA's most iconic beach towns, including Santa Monica, Venice, and Manhattan Beach. I loved how easy it was to stop and explore each area's unique character, from the bustling Santa Monica Pier to the eclectic Venice Boardwalk. The path is mostly flat, making it suitable for riders of all levels. Along the way, I encountered a diverse mix of cyclists, joggers, and rollerbladers, all enjoying the fresh sea air and California sunshine. One of the highlights was riding under the Manhattan Beach Pier, where I paused to watch surfers catching waves. The trail offers plenty of amenities, including restrooms, water fountains, and bike rental shops.
