Alaska SeaLife Center, Seward

Nestled on the shores of Resurrection Bay in Seward, the Alaska SeaLife Center is a must-visit attraction for nature enthusiasts and families alike. As I stepped inside, I was immediately captivated by the diverse marine life on display. The center's massive aquariums house an incredible variety of fish, from tiny colorful species to impressive large ones, all native to Alaskan waters. The highlight for me was the sea lion exhibit, where I watched these graceful creatures glide effortlessly through the water. The puffin habitat was equally enchanting, with these adorable birds diving and swimming in their specially designed enclosure. What sets this place apart is its dual role as both a public aquarium and a marine research facility. I was fascinated by the rehabilitation areas where injured animals are nursed back to health. The knowledgeable staff were always on hand to answer questions and share interesting facts about the animals. Interactive displays and hands-on exhibits made learning about marine ecosystems engaging and fun. The center's commitment to conservation and education was evident throughout my visit, leaving me with a deeper appreciation for Alaska's marine life and the importance of protecting our oceans.
