Nazaré, Nazare

Nazaré is a breathtaking coastal town in Portugal that left me in awe. The moment I arrived, I was struck by the dramatic cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The town's main beach, Praia da Nazaré, is a stunning stretch of golden sand perfect for sunbathing and swimming. But what truly sets Nazaré apart are the massive waves that crash against its shores, especially at Praia do Norte. I was lucky enough to witness surfers tackling these monstrous waves, some reaching up to 100 feet high! The town itself is charming, with narrow streets lined with traditional white houses and seafood restaurants serving the freshest catch. I took a ride on the funicular up to the Sítio neighborhood for panoramic views of the coastline and to visit the Nossa Senhora da Nazaré sanctuary. The local fishermen, with their colorful boats and traditional attire, add to the authentic atmosphere. Don't miss the dried fish market where you can sample some of the local delicacies. Nazaré is a perfect blend of natural beauty, thrilling surf culture, and rich Portuguese traditions.
