Standing at the edge of Cabo Girão, I felt like I was on top of the world. This breathtaking sea cliff on Madeira's southern coast is a must-visit for any thrill-seeker. As I stepped onto the glass-floored skywalk, my heart raced, but the panoramic views were worth every moment of fear. The cliff drops a staggering 580 meters straight down to the Atlantic, making it one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe. The vista stretches for miles, with the ocean merging into the horizon and the rugged coastline extending in both directions. I was fascinated by the small patches of cultivated land at the base of the cliff, accessible only by cable car. The bravest visitors can paraglide from the top, but I was content with the skywalk experience. The site also features a small chapel and a café where I enjoyed a coffee while soaking in the views. As the sun began to set, the cliff face glowed with warm hues, creating a truly magical atmosphere. Cabo Girão is more than just a viewpoint; it's an unforgettable experience that showcases the raw beauty of Madeira's landscape.
