Ojos del Salar, San Pedro de Atacama

As I stood at the edge of the Salar de Atacama, I was mesmerized by the sight before me. The Ojos del Salar, or "Eyes of the Salt Flat," are truly a natural wonder to behold. These two perfectly circular pools seem to appear out of nowhere in the vast expanse of the salt flat, their deep blue waters contrasting starkly with the white crystalline surface surrounding them. The larger pool is about 10 meters in diameter, while the smaller one is around 6 meters. As I approached, I was struck by the incredible clarity of the water, which allows you to see straight to the bottom. The pools are fed by underground springs, and their waters are surprisingly warm, making them perfect for a quick dip. The experience of floating in these natural pools, surrounded by the otherworldly landscape of the Atacama Desert, is truly unforgettable. The best time to visit is during sunset, when the changing light creates a magical atmosphere and the pools seem to glow from within.
