Chan Chan, Trujillo

As I wandered through the vast ruins of Chan Chan, I was awestruck by the sheer scale of this ancient city. Once the capital of the Chimú Empire, Chan Chan is the largest pre-Columbian city in South America. The Tschudi Complex, the only fully restored citadel, offered a glimpse into the grandeur of Chan Chan at its peak. The site's vulnerability to erosion was evident, making me appreciate the ongoing conservation efforts. Despite the ravages of time, Chan Chan remains a powerful reminder of Peru's rich pre-Incan heritage and a must-visit for history enthusiasts.
