Cerro Brujo, San Cristobal

Cerro Brujo, or "Witch Hill," is a mesmerizing spot on San Cristóbal Island in the Galápagos. As I approached by boat, the striking red-sand beach immediately caught my eye, contrasting beautifully with the turquoise waters. The beach is relatively small but incredibly picturesque, framed by volcanic rocks and lush vegetation. The area is teeming with wildlife, and I was thrilled to spot sea lions basking in the sun, marine iguanas scurrying across the sand, and various shore birds like blue-footed boobies. The real magic of Cerro Brujo lies in its tranquility and untouched beauty. I took a leisurely walk along the beach, feeling the soft sand between my toes and listening to the gentle lapping of waves. The snorkeling here is fantastic, with crystal-clear waters revealing a vibrant underwater world. As the sun began to set, the sky transformed into a canvas of oranges and pinks, reflecting off the water and creating a truly enchanting atmosphere. It's easy to see why this place is called "Witch Hill" – there's definitely something magical about it.
