Las Tintoreras, Puerto Villamil

Las Tintoreras is a hidden gem in the Galápagos Islands that left me in awe. As our small boat approached the islet, I was struck by the stark beauty of the volcanic landscape. The moment we stepped onto the white sand beach, I knew we were in for a treat. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the crystal-clear turquoise lagoon, where we spotted numerous white-tip reef sharks gliding gracefully through the water. It's an incredible experience to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. As we walked along the well-maintained trail, we encountered marine iguanas basking in the sun, their prehistoric appearance adding to the otherworldly feel of the place. The air was filled with the calls of various seabirds, including the famous blue-footed boobies. Our guide pointed out a colony of Galápagos penguins, which was a delightful surprise. The snorkeling here is out of this world, with colorful fish darting around the volcanic rocks and sea turtles gracefully swimming by. Las Tintoreras truly offers a unique glimpse into the incredible biodiversity of the Galápagos, and I left feeling privileged to have experienced such a remarkable place.
