Sani Pass is an exhilarating mountain road that connects South Africa and Lesotho, offering a thrilling adventure for 4x4 enthusiasts. As I ascended the steep, winding gravel road, I was struck by the breathtaking views of the Drakensberg Mountains. The journey is not for the faint-hearted, with hairpin turns and sheer drops that had my heart racing. At the summit, standing at 2,876 meters above sea level, I felt on top of the world. The stark beauty of the landscape is awe-inspiring, with rugged peaks and vast open spaces stretching as far as the eye can see. I stopped at the highest pub in Africa for a well-deserved drink and to soak in the panoramic views. The border crossing experience was unique, adding to the sense of adventure. The dramatic change in scenery and culture as you enter Lesotho is fascinating. Despite the challenging drive, the sense of accomplishment and the unforgettable vistas make Sani Pass a must-do for any adventure seeker visiting South Africa.
