Nestled in the western outskirts of Kyoto, Sagano is a tranquil escape from the bustling city center. As I wandered through its narrow streets, I was immediately struck by the area's serene beauty. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the famous Bamboo Grove. Walking through this enchanting forest, surrounded by towering green stalks swaying gently in the breeze, was truly magical. The soft rustling of bamboo leaves created a soothing soundtrack to my stroll. Nearby, I explored the picturesque Tenryu-ji Temple, with its stunning Zen gardens and peaceful atmosphere. The Togetsukyo Bridge spanning the Katsura River offered breathtaking views, especially during autumn when the surrounding mountains burst into vibrant colors. I also enjoyed a ride on the charming Sagano Scenic Railway, which winds through the gorgeous Hozugawa Ravine. The slow-paced journey allowed me to soak in the natural beauty of the area. Throughout Sagano, I found myself captivated by the perfect blend of natural wonders and cultural treasures, making it a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Kyoto.
