El Cotillo, Fuerteventura

El Cotillo is a charming fishing village on the northwest coast of Fuerteventura that stole my heart. As soon as I arrived, I was struck by its laid-back atmosphere and stunning natural beauty. The village is small but packed with character, with whitewashed houses and narrow streets that lead to the picturesque harbor. The beaches here are absolutely breathtaking, with crystal-clear turquoise waters and pristine white sand. I spent hours lounging on Playa de los Lagos, a series of sheltered lagoons perfect for swimming and snorkeling. For surfing enthusiasts, the nearby Playa del Castillo offers excellent waves. The local cuisine is a treat, with fresh seafood being the star. I enjoyed some of the best grilled fish I've ever tasted at the small restaurants lining the harbor. As the sun sets, the village comes alive with a relaxed vibe, perfect for enjoying a cold drink while watching the colorful sky. El Cotillo is a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of relaxation, natural beauty, and authentic Canarian charm.
