Jebel Akhdar, Nizwa

Jebel Akhdar, or the "Green Mountain," is a breathtaking oasis in the heart of Oman. As I ascended the winding road, the temperature dropped noticeably, offering a refreshing escape from the desert heat. The landscape transformed before my eyes, revealing lush terraced gardens and dramatic limestone cliffs. The air was filled with the sweet scent of roses and pomegranates, grown in abundance here. I explored charming villages like Saiq and Al Ayn, where friendly locals shared stories of their traditional way of life. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the stunning panoramic views from the mountain's edge, stretching as far as the eye could see. Hiking trails led me through ancient wadis and past hidden caves, each turn revealing new wonders. As night fell, the sky came alive with a blanket of stars, unobstructed by light pollution. Jebel Akhdar truly feels like a world apart, a serene retreat where nature's beauty reigns supreme and time seems to stand still.
