Metekhi Church, Tbilisi

Perched atop a cliff overlooking the Mtkvari River, Metekhi Church is a true gem of Tbilisi's skyline. What truly captivated me was the equestrian statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali standing proudly next to the church. Legend has it that this is where the king built his palace and the original church. The current structure, though rebuilt several times, still exudes an air of ancient mystique. As the sun began to set, I found myself mesmerized by the golden light illuminating the church's facade, creating a truly magical scene. The surrounding area offers a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll, allowing visitors to soak in the panoramic views of Tbilisi.
