Bay of Kotor, Kotor

As I approached by boat, the dramatic limestone cliffs seemed to rise endlessly from the crystal-clear waters, creating a fjord-like landscape that's simply unforgettable. The bay is dotted with charming coastal towns, each with its own unique character. Kotor, the star of the show, is a medieval gem with its well-preserved Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. I spent hours wandering through its narrow, winding streets, admiring the Venetian architecture and stumbling upon hidden squares and churches. The view from the top of the city walls is absolutely worth the climb – the red-roofed houses contrasting against the blue bay is a sight to behold. I also visited Perast, a picturesque town with a rich maritime history, and took a boat to the artificial island of Our Lady of the Rocks. The bay's beauty extends underwater too, with excellent snorkeling and diving opportunities.
