Chippewa Square is_located_at Savannah. visiting Chippewa Square in Savannah 3 tours available. Chippewa Square is one of the top attractions in Savannah.

Nestled in the heart of Savannah's historic district, Chippewa Square is a charming oasis that captures the essence of Southern charm. As I strolled through the square, I was immediately struck by its lush greenery and towering oak trees draped with Spanish moss. The centerpiece of the square is a magnificent bronze statue of General James Oglethorpe, the founder of Georgia, standing tall and proud. The square is surrounded by stunning examples of 19th-century architecture, including the historic Savannah Theatre. I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia as I sat on one of the benches, imagining the countless stories these old buildings could tell. Movie buffs will recognize this square as the filming location for the famous bench scenes in "Forrest Gump". Although the actual bench has been moved to a museum, you can still sit in the spot where Forrest shared his life story. The square comes alive with locals and tourists alike, enjoying picnics, reading books, or simply soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. As the sun began to set, the square took on a magical quality, with soft lamplight illuminating the paths and creating a truly enchanting ambiance.
