Li Galli (Sirenuse), Positano

As I approached Li Galli, also known as Sirenuse, I was immediately struck by its breathtaking beauty. This small archipelago of three islands, located off the Amalfi Coast, is a true hidden gem. The crystal-clear turquoise waters surrounding the islands are simply mesmerizing. I couldn't help but feel a sense of mystery and enchantment, knowing that these were the legendary islands of the sirens from Greek mythology. The main island, Gallo Lungo, is shaped like a dolphin and features a stunning white villa that once belonged to the famous Russian dancer Rudolf Nureyev. As I explored the islands by boat, I was captivated by the rugged coastline, dotted with hidden coves and grottoes. The smaller islands, La Rotonda and La Castelluccia, add to the archipelago's charm with their unique rock formations. Although private and not open to the public, the beauty of Li Galli can be appreciated from the sea or from viewpoints along the Amalfi Coast. The vibrant Mediterranean vegetation covering the islands creates a striking contrast against the azure sea. As the sun began to set, the islands were bathed in a golden light, creating a truly magical atmosphere that I'll never forget.
