Sillustani Tombs, Puno

As I approached the Sillustani Tombs, I was immediately struck by their imposing presence against the backdrop of Lake Umayo. These ancient pre-Incan burial towers, known as chullpas, stand as silent sentinels on a windswept peninsula. The circular structures, some reaching heights of up to 12 meters, are a testament to the engineering skills of the Colla people who built them.
