Temae Beach (Plage Temae), French Polynesia

Temae Beach is a slice of paradise on the northeastern coast of Moorea, French Polynesia. As I stepped onto the powdery white sand, I was immediately struck by the breathtaking turquoise lagoon stretching out before me. The water is so clear you can see straight to the bottom, making it perfect for snorkeling. I spent hours exploring the vibrant coral reefs teeming with colorful fish. The beach itself is long and wide, offering plenty of space to relax and soak up the sun. What I loved most was the tranquil atmosphere - it's far less crowded than some of Moorea's other beaches. The gentle lapping of waves and rustling of palm trees created a soothing soundtrack for my day. For the more adventurous, there are kayaks and paddleboards available for rent. I particularly enjoyed paddling out to the reef and watching the sunset from the water. The beach also offers stunning views of Tahiti in the distance, especially beautiful at dusk. While there aren't many amenities directly on the beach, there's a small snack shop nearby for refreshments. Temae Beach truly embodies the laid-back, natural beauty that makes French Polynesia so special.
