Erg Chebbi Excursions & Attractions

Nestled in the southeastern corner of Morocco, Erg Chebbi stands as one of North Africa's most spectacular natural wonders. This vast sea of sand dunes, part of the greater Sahara Desert, rises dramatically from the surrounding flat desert landscape, with some dunes towering up to 150 meters high. The nearest settlement, Merzouga, serves as the gateway to this desert paradise, located about 50 kilometers from the Algerian border. Visitors typically arrive by 4x4 vehicles before transferring to camel caravans that traverse the undulating dunes in traditional Berber style.

Overnight stays in desert camps provide the quintessential Saharan experience, with traditional nomadic tents set up among the dunes.
