Created in 1837 after a landslide blocked the Bicaz River, this natural dam formed a stunning lake where tree trunks still emerge from the water's surface, creating an eerie yet beautiful landscape. Surrounded by the majestic Hasmas Mountains, Lacu Rosu offers visitors a perfect blend of natural beauty and outdoor activities. Just a short drive from the lake is the spectacular Bicaz Gorge (Cheile Bicazului), where limestone cliffs rise dramatically to heights of 300 meters.
