Tra Que Vegetable Village, Hoi An

Nestled just outside of Hoi An, Tra Que Vegetable Village is a hidden gem that offers a unique glimpse into rural Vietnamese life. As I wandered through the lush green fields, I was struck by the vibrant colors and intoxicating aromas of the herbs and vegetables growing all around me. The village is renowned for its organic farming methods, using seaweed from the nearby De Vong River as a natural fertilizer. I had the opportunity to join local farmers in their daily tasks, learning traditional techniques for planting and harvesting. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the cooking class, where I used freshly picked ingredients to prepare delicious Vietnamese dishes. The warm hospitality of the villagers made me feel right at home, and I left with a deeper appreciation for the hard work that goes into producing the flavorful herbs and vegetables that are so integral to Vietnamese cuisine.
